Weekend Getaway Up North ~ Places to stay in the Nisswa & Brainerd Lakes Area

2020 brought many changes for us as a small business, each that we adapted to in one way or another. One very big change was our decision to close our Downtown location, “pack up” our things, and move up North. KISA has been located in Nisswa since last summer and we have definitely fallen in love with this gorgeous town.

This area (Brainerd + Gull Chain of Lakes) has some really amazing things to do and see, especially for the entire family - there’s something for everyone! Camping, golfing, mountain biking, spa days, and of course shopping too. We wanted to give you a guide to some of the wonderful places you can stay while visiting this area.

Grand View Lodge

Located right in Nisswa, this resort includes a spa and golf plus some great places to eat. They have implemented a StaySafe Initiative to make your stay the safest for you and your family. Let the kids play in the pool while you enjoy some yoga. Or rent a pontoon for an afternoon. There’s even opportunities for horseback riding!

One of their newest additions is their boutique hotel with 60 rooms available and many amenities (walk-in showers sound so great right?)

Cuyuna Cove

Located in the Cuyuna State Recreation area, you'll love to stay here if you want to be right next to some of the best mountain biking trails. Choose a cabin or Safari Tent (“glamping”) to relax in after. They also have some wonderful Deluxe Cabins too!

Along with mountain biking, there’s fat tire biking, paddle boarding, canoeing, and much more.

Madden's Resort on Gull Lake

Stay at Madden's if you want to be right on Gull Lake, one of the largest lakes in the area. It's also perfect for the whole family, with something for everyone to enjoy. Madden's has a spa, golf, tennis, croquet, and many water activities.
