CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Washing Your Towels & Robes
Before First Use
- Wash before first use to remove any manufacturing residue and enhance absorbency
- This initial wash activates the natural fibers and improves softness
General Washing Guidelines
Temperature:
- Wash in warm or cold water (40°C/104°F maximum)
- Hot water may cause shrinkage and fade colors over time
Detergent:
- Use mild, liquid detergent (about half the amount you'd normally use)
- Avoid detergents with fabric softeners, bleach, or optical brighteners
- These additives reduce absorbency and can damage natural fibers
Load Size:
- Don't overload your washing machine
- Towels need room to agitate freely for proper cleaning
- Wash towels and robes separately from clothing with zippers or hooks
Fabric Softener:
- DO NOT use fabric softener - it coats fibers and significantly reduces absorbency
- Your towels will naturally soften over time with proper care
Bleach:
- Avoid chlorine bleach on colored items
- Oxygen-based bleach may be used occasionally for white items only
Drying
Machine Drying:
- Tumble dry on low to medium heat
- Remove promptly to prevent wrinkles and maintain softness
- Shake towels before drying to fluff fibers
Line Drying:
- Air drying is gentler on fibers and extends product life
- Shake well before hanging to maintain fluffiness
- Note: Line-dried towels may feel slightly stiffer initially but will soften with use
Dryer Balls:
- Use wool or rubber dryer balls to naturally soften and fluff towels
- Great alternative to fabric softener
Bamboo Fabric - Special Care
Bamboo fabric is naturally softer and more delicate than cotton:
- Wash in cold water on gentle cycle
- Use mild detergent
- Air dry when possible or tumble dry on low heat only
- Bamboo becomes softer with each wash
Maintaining Absorbency & Freshness
Deep Cleaning (Every Few Months):
- Wash towels in hot water with 1 cup of white vinegar (no detergent)
- Run a second cycle with ½ cup baking soda (no detergent)
- This removes detergent buildup and restores absorbency
Storage:
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated area
- Ensure towels are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew
- Fold loosely to maintain loft
How to Handle Snags
IMPORTANT: Never pull or cut a snag!
For Loop Snags (Most Common):
- Gently push the snag back through to the reverse side of the fabric using your fingers or a blunt needle
- Smooth the area by gently rubbing the fabric around the snag
- Use a crochet hook or bobby pin from the back side to pull the loop through if needed
- The snag will blend back into the terry cloth texture
For Loose Threads:
- Do not pull - this can unravel the weave
- Trim carefully with small, sharp scissors close to the fabric surface
- Trim only the visible loose thread, not the surrounding fabric
Prevention:
- Keep nails trimmed and smooth when handling towels
- Remove jewelry before use
- Wash separately from items with zippers, hooks, or Velcro
- Avoid washing with clothing that has rough textures
Tips for Longevity
✓ Wash every 3-4 uses to maintain freshness
✓ Have multiple sets in rotation to extend life
✓ Avoid harsh chemicals and high heat
✓ Turkish cotton improves with age when properly cared for
✓ First 3-4 washes may produce some lint - this is normal
