Rediscovering What Makes Work Feel Like Play
Emily here, I've been asking myself lately: What would make my business fun again?
As a creative person, I found myself caught in the whirlwind of sales pressures, inventory management, location moves, and all those necessary-but-draining aspects of running a business. Honestly? It left me feeling burned out and less alive than I wanted to be. (Let's be real—raising three young kids and navigating a pandemic didn't help either!)
But here's what I know for certain: I love branding, photoshoots, collaboration, and creating genuinely good products. These are the things that give me life.
So recently, I decided to lean into exactly that.
The Shoot That Brought the Joy Back
Last week, my wonderful team and I brought a concept to life that felt like pure creative energy. We gathered at the stunning Naturelink Resorts in Nisswa, Minnesota—a gorgeous lakeside retreat that was the perfect backdrop for what we had in mind. Working with the talented photographer Sarah Heath, we captured the vibrant, joyful spirit of our Pom Pom Collection in a way that felt effortless and fun.
The colorful vibrancy of these towels and robes—with their playful pompom fringe and classic striped motifs—is exactly what we wanted to showcase. Made from soft, absorbent cotton fibers, they're luxurious yet lighthearted. Speaking of saunas—Naturelink Resorts has this incredible lakeside sauna that became one of our favorite spots during the shoot. There's something about the combination of warmth, water views, and good company that just feels right. Our Pom Pom towels and robes were absolutely perfect for the occasion—cozy, colorful, and totally Instagram-worthy.
The whole day had this fun, bachelorette party energy. We laughed, we wrapped ourselves in stripes and pompoms, we took over the sauna like it was our own private spa. It was the kind of collaboration that reminds you why you started your business in the first place: to create beautiful things and share joyful moments with great people.
